ICS-200 Part-A More Information
The ICS-200 SS Part A does meet minimum requirements for admission into the ICS Canada Strike Team/Task Force Leader course and the ICS Canada Finance Administration Unit Leaders Course. Other agencies may designate this format of training as acceptable prerequisite training for "agency specific" training.
The ICS-200 SS Part A does not meet minimum requirements for admission into the ICS Canada ICS-300 training. The holder of a ICS-200 SS Part A certificate will need to enroll into the ICS-200 Part B to complete the prerequisite requirements for admission into ICS-300.
The ICS-200 Part B is a 1-day instructor facilitated session delivered by an ICS-200 Lead Instructor. The ICS-200 Part B will not be available for delivery until mid- 2026 so if you anticipate attending the ICS-300 before then, you should consider the 2-day instructor facilitated course. Finding available seats in a delivery of the ICS-200 Part B course may be challenging during the initial rollout of the program.
To enroll into the ICS-200 Part B, the student must produce both their ICS-100 and the ICS-200 SS Part A certificates.
Agencies can set higher minimum requirements for their own personnel. The ICS-200 2-day Instructor facilitated course will still be available and remains the preferred option for ICS-200 training.
Notes on the ICS-100 Course Options: The ICS-100 Online Self Study (SS) or the ICS-100 instructor facilitated course, are required prerequisite training advancing to the ICS-200 Part A, the ICS-200 Part B and the ICS-200 2-day Instructor facilitated course. Proof of completing the ICS-100 Online SS or the ICS-100 must be attained or provided prior to enrolling in any of the ICS-200 courses.
Notes on the ICS 200 Course Options: The ICS-200 Self Study (SS) Part A course alone does not meet the pre-requisite for ICS-300. You must complete ICS-200 Part-B to meet the prerequisite for I-300 if you hold an ICS-200 SS Part A certificate.

When an agency chooses the Group Rate option, the agency is provided with an administrator access code that allows them to monitor their participant's progress, who has started, completed or not suceeded in completing the course, and other typical statistics and reports that can be generated by the Learning Management System. The agency administrator code will be unique for each agency. The administrator will provide to their personnel a registration code to allow their personnel to register and participate in the training. Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to print and reprint their certificate at any time providing they keep record of their log in information. Participants will also be able to return to the course at any time to review the course as a refresher.
