Provincial and Territorial Authorities Having Jurisdiction (PTAHJ)
PTAHJ is a recognized agency within ICS Canada that is a Canadian Province or Territory with legislated responsibility for Emergency Management and Public Safety. These agencies are responsible for the oversight and administration of the ICS Canada program for provincial, municipal, and local governments, for industry, other agencies and organizations, and for the public that reside within their jurisdiction. PTAHJs sit as members of the ICS Canada Management Committee that oversees the operation and management of the ICS Canada program in Canada.

Agency Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AAHJ)
Agency Authority Having Jurisdiction (AAHJ) is an agency recognized by ICS Canada, that are Federal Departments, NGOs or Provincial/Territorial Government agencies with an emergency response, support or regulatory mandate, to provide capacity in one form or another during emergency response, supporting emergency management, or coordinating or supporting emergency social services. An AAHJ is responsible for the oversight and administration of an ICS Canada program for their own organization. AAHJs sit as members of the ICS Canada Management Committee that oversees the operation and management of the ICS Canada program in Canada.
For Federal Departments seeking AAHJ recognition with ICS Canada, your request must be supported at a national level and be submitted by your national headquarters.
For AAHJ applicants who are located within the jurisdiction of a P/T-AHJ, the P/T-AHJ must first support your application to ICS Canada.
